We all know that Amanda Bynes was a child star who acted in multiple projects (similar to Lindsay Lohan) in the early 2000s. Yet, most people don't know that she also starred in this sitcom called "What I Like About You" on the WB (what is now known as the CW Network).
The show's plot is that after their father moves away to Japan, two sisters have to learn how to live together and adapt to their opposite personalities. The older sister, Val (Jennie Garth), is very responsible and strict, while her younger sibling, Holly (Amanda Bynes), is impulsive and adventurous.
When I was younger, I watched the rerun episodes of "What I Like About You" all the time. It was always interesting to watch the dynamic these two sisters have, from bickering one moment to hugging it out the next.
For years, I have been searching and trying to figure out where I can watch it for nostalgic purposes when all of a sudden, HBO Max brought the show to its streaming platform. All four seasons are now available, and everything is the same as I remember it, aside from the fact that the original theme song "What I Like About You" is now replaced by a different tune.
Either way, if you are looking for a sitcom that has love triangles, hidden sexual innuendos, and relationship drama, I recommend you watch this show. I will admit that the first few episodes are a bit cheesy, but as you continue watching, the quality and overall comedy of the show become better.
And if you're not looking for a quick 20-minute show, I would still say to watch it because it may remind you of some of the other characters Amanda Bynes played in movies such as "What A Girl Wants" and "She's the Man."
Let me know in the comments or contact form below if you watch it or have any show recommendations. I have also recently created a Google Form to submit shows you would like for me to review, and a random drawing will take place every month. You can find the link in my Instagram bio :)
