Stemming from a love of Selena Gomez's acting as Alex Russo on "Wizards of Waverly Place," I'm always quick to watch something that she stars in. If you add in the other cast members of Steve Martin and Martin Short, watching this show is a no-brainer.
Hulu's new hit show, "Only Murders in the Building," is about three true-crime fanatics working together to solve a murder that happens in their building. Unfortunately, as they attempt to solve the case, they receive numerous threats that put their lives in jeopardy.
Mabel (Selena Gomez) is a sarcastic young woman whose past is a complete mystery. Charles (Steve Martin) is a washed-up actor struggling with his loneliness. Finally, Oliver (Martin Short) is a theater director with crazy ideas that land the trio in more trouble.
"Only Murders in the Building" is a murder mystery show with ten episodes, and each one gets more intense as they begin zoning in on the killer. All suspects have a motive for the murder, so it isn't easy to figure out who it could be. I couldn't figure out who the killer was until it got closer to the season finale, and even the ending of that was unexpected.
So if you're looking for a true comedic crime that will leave you laughing and shocked at the same time, this show is it. However, I admit that it starts a bit slow, so it wasn't binge-able, but it can be something to watch in the background while doing other tasks.
