Dead To Me Review

Netflix’s dark comedy, “Dead To Me”, is one of those slow-burning shows that may take a while to get to the juicy drama, but once it does, it’s worth the wait.

The first season is centered around a budding friendship between two women who meet in a grief counseling group. Jen, a recent widow, is set on figuring out who killed her husband in a hit and run accident. Judy is a single woman volunteering at a nursing home and suffering from a tragedy of her own.

The friendship between these two is intriguing as their personalities are completely opposite, like fire and ice. Jen is the blunt one who will tell you exactly what she’s thinking even if she’s being rude. Judy is the extremely nice one who always sees the good in people, even if they may not treat her well.

In all honesty, I was close to not finishing the series after watching the first two episodes but the friendship between these two and the fact that the ending of each episode revealed a new secret kept me interested. Now, I am happy that I continued watching because season two is better than season one.

If you are looking for a new dark comedy that will keep you entertained and can be binge-watched quickly, this show is the one for you. Each episode is 30 minutes and it’s only 10 episodes in each season.

However, I strongly advise those who may have recently lost someone to not watch this show yet because the first season is filled with a lot of grief and can be triggering. You can watch the official trailer below:
