Although some states are finally opening back up, if you are still quarantining to lessen your chances of catching COVID-19, here are 18 things you can do to stay productive:

Entertainment/Leisure

  • Watch TV:

    • Binge-watch shows/movies/documentaries on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime

    • Catch up on your favorite childhood shows and movies on Disney+

  • Read books (fun ones that take you to another world)

  • Plan your next trip - if you want to travel for an upcoming birthday or holiday, start planning it now and purchase flight tickets while it’s cheap - a lot of flights are offering free cancellation fees for a certain amount of time

  • Support your favorite restaurants by ordering delivery food or doing curbside pickup

  • Stay updated on the new Tik Tok challenges and make videos of yourself with family or friends

  • Play video games - Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox (whatever you have)

  • Go through your camera roll and create a scrapbook:

    • If you are a senior, you can work on a college project where you compile all of your college memories and put it in one video by the time of your graduation

  • Upgrade your skills:

    • Watch YouTube videos and learn how to do different hairstyles

    • Learn how to do your own makeup

    • Learn new cooking recipes

Education/Personal Development

  • Take free online classes about business, writing, marketing, etc

  • Learn a new language (Duo-lingo app is free)

  • Read personal development or finance books

  • Learn Adobe Creative Cloud (all Adobe apps) - some colleges give students access to Adobe for free or for a student discount ($19.99 a month). You can learn how to do Photoshop for editing photos, Premiere Pro for editing videos, and much more.

  • Start a side hustle - create a YouTube Channel, start your own business, find an online job, etc

  • Think about your goals for the upcoming school semester (if it is in person) and plan it out. For example, if you want to save more money this upcoming semester, start doing research on how you can set up a successful budget.

    • Create a vision board for the goals you would like to achieve for the rest of the year.

Self Care

  • Stay active by working out: run around the neighborhood, go bike riding, or exercise at home by watching YouTube videos or using iPhone apps (Nike Training, 7M Workout, Workout for Women, etc)

  • Eat healthily - try to avoid eating too much junk food and make sure you eat your fruits and vegetables

  • Start journaling - write down your embarrassing moments or favorite memories - it can be turned into a successful book later on just like Michelle Obama did with "Becoming"

  • If you feel lonely, stay connected with your friends and family virtually - Facetime, Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc

Try to think of quarantine as a time to relax and work on goals you wouldn't have had the time to do before.
