Blood & Water is a South African teen drama based in Cape Town about Puleng Khumalo, an investigative high school student looking for her long-lost twin sister abducted at birth.
The more she digs, the more she finds out, and the truth is more haunting than she initially thought.
Fikile Bhele is a star athlete whose life gets flipped upside down when Puleng Khumalo becomes a part of her friend group.
This Netflix original is a binge-worthy sensation that incorporates scandalous romance, betrayal, rivalry, and plot twists. However, the originality, scenery, and diverse African cast make this series stand out.
The production shots and cinematography are well done, such as the opening scene from the first episode of season one, which reminded me of the Kilmonger scene in Black Panther.
The music soundtrack is exceptional too. I searched each song in almost every scene before finding the entire soundtrack on Spotify.
Season three dropped in November, and it's the best season yet. After season two's explosive actions, more drama and violence are added to the mix.
Although Netflix has not been promoting this series as much as it should have been, I have to ask you one serious question:
